Jake Walton

Jake Walton – Jake Walton is a Northwest based performance artist currently livi ng and working in Manchester. He has background training in a variety of performance techniques working in a range of professional and semi-professional companies.

Jake has studied at Sandbach School Theatre where he performed at a variety of venues including The Royal College of Physicians at the Edinburgh Fringe, The Lowry in Salford and the Olivier Stage at The National Theatre in London – where he worked closely with Frantic Assembly and Bryony Lavery  It Snows, 2008. He also had training at the National Youth Theatre of New Zealand, picking up further contemporary dance technique and circus skills training. He then studied at Lancaster University in a Ba (Hons) Theatre Studies course learning skills in devising and creating contemporary performance work in both an academic and practical manner – with particular interest in postmodern and contemporary dance and visual arts.

Since graduating, Jake has been a part of professional workshops run through IdeasTap (Including a text-delivery workshop with Andrew Scott) he has worked a lot more on music in his performance – performing at various places in the Northwest and more recently at Camden People’s Theatre in London. Since joining Paper People Theatre, he has co-written music for a festival performance Stories From The WildWild West and is currently helping devise a brand new piece of work. Jake is also a core member of Powder Keg and works as a writer, performer and musician. He is currently touring Morale is High (since we gave up hope) and is a devisor and performer for Bears.
